A Sneak Peek at Spring: What’s Changing in the Woods Already?

A Sneak Peek at Spring: What’s Changing in the Woods Already?

We’re still in that late-winter stretch, but the woods have started dropping little hints that spring is warming up in the wings. If you know what to look for, it’s like a quiet treasure hunt.

Here’s what we’ve spotted around Kosel:

Early buds forming
Some of the trees are already waking up, with tiny buds sitting on the branches like promises. They’re easy to miss unless you slow down and really look.

Birdsong getting louder
The robins and tits are always chatty, but lately the soundtrack has shifted, nesting season is coming, and the birds are getting organised. Morning coffee on the deck comes with a built-in concert.

More daylight, finally
That subtle moment when you realise it’s not dark at 4:30 anymore? Pure joy. The evenings stretch just a little longer each week, inviting you outdoors for twilight wanders.

Green shoots at ground level
Look down and you’ll spot the brave ones: snowdrops, bluebell leaves, little shoots pushing up through the soil, ignoring the chill entirely.

A gentle lift in the air
Hard to describe, but you feel it. The woods seem to breathe differently, lighter, softer, full of possibility.

Spring at Kosel is one of our favourite times. Everything wakes up, slowly and beautifully. And if you’re visiting soon, keep your eyes peeled… nature is already getting ready for her grand return.
