Enjoy a Unique Treehouse Stay in Cornwall

If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Cornwall that feels a little different from the usual hotel or cottage, there’s something rather special about sleeping among the trees.
A treehouse stay in Cornwall isn’t simply somewhere to sleep at the end of a day exploring the coast. It’s an experience in its own right. From waking up among the trees to soaking in a wood-fired hot tub beneath the evening sky, everything about a treehouse escape encourages you to slow down, switch off and reconnect with the people and nature around you.
At Kosel Treehouses, on the Lizard Peninsula at the head of the Helford River, we’ve created three very different spaces designed around one simple idea: relax, restore and recharge in beautiful Cornwall.

Why choose a treehouse stay over a hotel?

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a lovely hotel room or a beautifully decorated holiday cottage. But when you’re looking for unique accommodation in Cornwall, a treehouse offers something that’s rather difficult to recreate.
The accommodation itself becomes part of your adventure. Instead of simply arriving at a room, unpacking your bags and heading out for the day, you arrive somewhere that makes you want to stay.
You might cook dinner while the wood-burner crackles beside you. Listen to an old record with a glass of wine. Sit on your private balcony watching the trees move in the breeze. Take a long soak in a wood-fired hot tub. Or simply curl up with a book and realise that, for once, nobody needs anything from you.
It’s less about having somewhere convenient to stay and more about creating time to enjoy being there.

A treehouse designed around the experience

At Kosel, the treehouses weren’t designed as standard accommodation and then given a treehouse theme. The design came first.
Each of our treehouses has its own character, but all share the distinctive curved architecture that has become part of the Kosel identity. The buildings have been carefully designed by Maddie’s dad to sit within their woodland surroundings, giving you a feeling of being immersed in nature while still enjoying the comforts you’d expect from a luxury stay.
And that’s where the difference really lies.
A good place to stay should be comfortable. But a memorable place to stay should make you feel something.
Our aim has always been to create spaces that make you breathe a little slower.

Luxury without losing the connection to nature

You don’t have to choose between being surrounded by nature and having the comforts of a luxury getaway.
At Kosel, you can have both.
Our treehouses have comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchens, beautiful bathrooms, Wi-Fi, Smart TVs and everything you need for a relaxing self-catering break. But step outside and the experience changes completely.
There are private outdoor spaces, balconies, wood-fired hot tubs and places to sit and simply take in your surroundings.
At Kalmynsi, for example, you can light the chiminea, pour yourself a glass of wine and settle into the Japanese-style deep soak hot tub while listening to the owls calling from the nearby woodland.
That’s a very different experience from watching the same television channel from a hotel bed.

Designed by people who care about the details

There’s a lot more that goes into creating a unique treehouse than putting a building between a few trees.
Kosel is a family-built project, and the design and construction of the treehouses have always been incredibly important to us.
Daskor, our newest treehouse was created to blend into the landscape. It is partially sunk into the hillside and clad in UK-grown Larch, while its balcony has been made from locally grown Chestnut. Some of the timber came from trees blown down during the storms of 2024 and was milled locally, giving the material another life.
Those details might not be the first things you notice when you arrive.
But they’re part of what makes a Kosel treehouse feel different.
The buildings have been carefully considered from the way they sit within the landscape to the way the light moves through the space, the materials you touch and the view you have from bed.

Your own little world in the Cornish woods

One of the things guests tell us they love most about staying in a treehouse is the sense of having somewhere that feels completely your own.
There’s no hotel corridor outside your door. No breakfast buffet downstairs. No need to dress for dinner.
Just your own private space, surrounded by trees.
You can wake slowly. Make coffee in your pyjamas. Step outside onto your balcony. Spend the morning exploring Cornwall or decide that today is simply going to be a treehouse day.
And perhaps that is one of the biggest luxuries of all. Having nowhere you need to be.

From treehouse to Cornish adventure

Of course, staying in your treehouse doesn’t mean you have to spend your entire trip hiding in the woods.
Kosel is perfectly placed for exploring the Lizard Peninsula and the surrounding Cornish coast.
The treehouses are in Gweek, a waterside village at the head of the Helford River, with the coast and some of Cornwall’s most beautiful beaches within easy reach. Kynance Cove is around 11 miles away, while there are gardens, coastal walks, villages and plenty of places to eat nearby.
Gweek itself is also wonderfully handy. You can walk to the village shop, pub and Boatyard Café, meaning you can enjoy the feeling of being tucked away without being miles from everything you might need.
Spend the day exploring Cornwall.
Then come home to the trees.

Choose your own kind of treehouse escape

Our three treehouses offer slightly different experiences.
Skapya – for two
Curved, cosy and tucked amongst the trees, Skapya is made for couples looking for a romantic escape. There’s a private balcony, wood-fired hot tub, log burner and everything you need for a cosy few days away from everyday life.
Kalmynsi – for two and your four-legged friend
Kalmynsi is a peaceful woodland retreat for two, with a separate bedroom, private outdoor space and wood-fired Japanese-style hot tub. It’s also dog friendly, so your best friend doesn’t have to miss out on the adventure.
Daskor – for families and friends
Daskor offers something a little different, with two separate bedrooms and space for up to five guests. Designed to blend into its new woodland setting, it’s an ideal option for a family escape or a few friends looking for a unique place to stay in Cornwall.

Why stay in an ordinary room when you can stay in the trees?

A hotel can give you a comfortable bed.
A holiday cottage can give you somewhere to cook.
But a thoughtfully designed Cornwall treehouse stay can give you a story to take home.
If you’re looking for luxury treehouse accommodation in Cornwall, unusual places to stay, a romantic Cornwall getaway or simply somewhere to escape the noise of everyday life, we’d love to welcome you to Kosel.
Come into the trees.
Stay awhile.
And see what happens when you give yourself permission to slow down.
